Wallace - Black Lake

Lead cut from her debut EP 'Pole To Pole', out October 13, Sydney-based New Zealander Wallace Gollan is back with this Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe) co-written, future-soul number, with an intoxicating marimba melodic riff, live drums and soaring strings, and her smooth and sultry vocal.
The first thing you notice when you listen to Black Lake from Wallace is the voice. A soberly sexy stamp that does not need technical flights to be appreciated, it is enough to itself. The New Zealand singer, who is not unknown to some - and has already been broadcast on BBC Radio Black Lake tale "thoughts of a loving person willing to engage with someone who is not" - a- "  she told Complex Magazine . Everything from the tiptoeing percussion to Wallace’s elastic voice which bounces from a soaring chorus to soul verse, keeps you just on the edge of your seat. It’s gritty and delicate in equal measure and while it starts with delicate percussive beats, it builds into something rhythmic and full to bursting by the first minute. Lyrically catchy and rhythmically complex
