Whilst its no hidden secret my love affair or crush on Little Dragon's Yukimi , let alone their production style, i'm yet once again enamored with this release and cut off their latest album Sweet
Little Dragon has consistently delivered mellow dramatic electronic music to your ears for years now. Formed in 1996 in Gothenburg, Sweden, singer-songwriter Yukimi Nagano (Vocals, Percussion) met seniors and future band mates, Fredrik Wallin and Erik Bodin while just a freshman. The the three of them would meet every day after school to jam and play records by De La Soul, Alice Coltrane, and A Tribe Called Quest.
The bands name was inspired by Nagano's daily tantrums thrown over imperfections in sound and her struggle for perfectionism. After reaching stardom, Nagano has laughed about these so called "tantrums" and revealed that this is where the band actually got the name ' Little Dragon'. Her fierceness echoed while the rest of band mates watched on as she threw these "fuming tantrums". The recent released single "High" is bellowing with a subtle beat that will send you into a musical high paired beautifully with the simple overlay of synths, drums and Nagano's perfect voice. The light Genesis-style drums in between transitions are a perfect added accent to the rest of the song.
